What Single Duvet Size Should You Use

August 5th, 2010 by

When shopping for a single duvet size, it’s best to always know the kind of size that you’re looking for.  Generally speaking, a single duvet size should be proportionate to the size of your bed.  If you have a queen sized bed, then you should buy a single duvet size proportionate to that particular size.  The same rule applies for any other size.  The one you do need to be careful about is king size as there are two different sizes that are not exactly the same.  There is king-sized and Cal- King sized.   Before setting out to buy either one of these two, make sure you know what kind of bed you have and then buy a duvet proportionate to your bed size.  A king sized duvet is not going to work on a Cal King bed and vice versa.

Let’s suppose that the single sized duvet you’re looking for is a Cal-King size and you’re certain that you have that type of bed.  You have now visited several stores and have not found the right size.  You’ve gone through lots of King sized duvets but none of them are Cal-King.  You should then check online to see if you can locate that size anywhere.  Checking online, in fact, is the first place you should always check first before even going out to look for a duvet.  The first site you should look at is Kaboodle.com.  The reason for that is that Kaboodle can allow you to explore various vendors that sell duvets and may have your size.  Once you’ve looked at a few vendors, go directly to their website so that you can see their complete inventory.

Another place where you might locate a single duvet size that’s suited for you is on Amazon.com.  This is a site that has very good inventory when it comes to duvets.  You can check there now and more than likely, you’ll find a good Cal-King sized duvet.  You can also order directly from them.

Both Amazon.com and Kaboodle.com allow customers to post their comments and review items that they’ve bought.   This feature is essential because if you’re buying directly online, you really do not have the opportunity to feel the item or take it out of the packaging to see if everything is fine with the product.  Customers on Kaboodle and Amazon not only rate the product but also rate the vendor they bought the item from.  That’s just as important as the item itself.
